Relentless is a 6-track mini-album that was a companion piece to some releases of Very in 1993.
Production and Recording[]
According to Chris,
I had this studio in the country I was writing a lot of dance music which wouldn't work as traditional verse-chorus pop music. I was writing stuff knowing that it wasn't going to be on Very, some of which became Relentless, though there's still some other tracks lying around, which I'm sure will never see the light of day.
Personnel[]
Much of the line-up is similar to Very, with Bob Kraushaar mixing and Pete Gleadall programming. Since the songs were all from the mind and tools of Chris, the writing credits for these songs was reversed to 'Lowe/Tennant'.
Releases and Versions[]
With few expections, the only way to get Relentless was to buy the 2CD version of the 'Very Relentless' release in 1993. It was packaged together as a limited run in several countries including, the UK, Germany, Canada and the USA.
Relentless was also released as a 3x12" in very limited run of 500 copies in the UK. Each track was on its own side and the records were pressed in pink, blue and yellow. After its release, it became one of the most sought-after PSB products, sometimes fetching $1000 or more for the seller.
