Love Comes Quickly was the second single from Please and was released prior to the album. It was coupled with the b-side 'That's My Impression'. Remixes for the single were done by Shep Pettibone.
Releases and Versions[]
The standard single version is also the album version from Please. This mix was extended to become the 'Dance Mix' on the 12" release.
In the UK, 7" and 12" singles were issued, as well as a 10" with the same 12" tracks. However, no limited 12" editions were made of the single, unlike the preceding single releases.
Shep Pettibone mixed two versions for the US market, and these remixes were solely distributed to the North American market on 12" Shortly thereafter, edits of the 'Mastermix' appeared on cassette and double-7" copies of Suburbia in the UK. The 'Mastermix' in its entirety was featured as a standard track on Disco: The Remix Album, and so the 'Dub' version is only available on the US vinyl releases.
Almost all releases of the single featured the b-side That's My Impression.
in 2003, Blank and Jones remixed this song in am ambient style for inclusion on the 3CD editions of PopArt. They also included it in their own various artists mix compilation 'Relax' that same year.
Design and Packaging[]
The standard sleeve consisted of a full-frame photo of Chris wearing a 'BOY' cap. His eyes are obscured by the shadow cast from the brim. On the reverse was simple black text on a white background. The 10" single featured a photo of both Neil and Chris in a similar style, Neil sports a fur-lined parka. This version also included a poster featuring several photos set in an array, similar to the style seen in the Please packaging.
Videos[]
The video for this song features Neil and Chris amid several models, all shot close cropped against a dark background and a suspended lattice.
