Summary[]
This single was the third released during promotion of 'Behaviour', but it was not a track on the album. Instead, it was packaged with remixes of 'How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously?' and a b-side called 'Bet She's Not Your Girlfriend'. Both sets of remixes were done exclusively by David Morales. In America, the two sets of remixes were released as separate singles.
Background[]
The decision for the third single was originally 'How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously?' but upon further reflection, the band decided it wouldn't be a big enough hit, and so they decided on a double-a side release with '...Streets...' as the big number. The song of course was written and released by U2 early in their career. They had originally planned to record this with Patsy Kensit's Eighth Wonder. The idea to mix the song with 'I Can't Take My Eyes Off You' was Chris's.
Trivia[]
- The story may be partially apocryphal, but Neil claims that when this record was released, Bono of U2 heard it for the first time, and issued the statement, 'what have we done to deserve this?'
